Painted chair

Finished painting a chair that will be part of an auction supporting
Oregon Partnership.

Oregon Partnership has a crisis line that
responds to more than 35,000 calls a year,
half of which are on the suicide Lifeline.
The Crisis line provides free, confidential intervention, support, referrals and immediate assistence by highly trained staff and volunteers.

A number of military veterans, soldiers and their families
are turning to the crisis lines as well.
Oregon Partnership has also forged an
ongoing relationship with the National Guard's
training in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills.
OP is trying to establish a dedicated line fror returning soldiers, veterans and their families.
Additionally there is a youth line which is a peer-peer line for teens.
Young people work with adults to answer calls on
 diverse topics including substance abuse,
depression, self-harm, dating violence and other issues.
There is also a crisis line for speakers of Spanish
who are experiencing alcohol and drug problems.

first post

Hello,
My first blog post.  I'm trying to get organized before the
busy show season and have jumped into the world of cyber space.
I just set up a Flikr account, Twitter
and have stocked my Etsy store.
My website is updated with many new paintings
with more to come and a Facebook
presence is pending too.

I have just returned from a very cold but inspiring trip
to New York where I saw some incredible art
at the Metropolitan Museum,
ate some very yummy thin crust pizza and
literally crashed into Ethan Hawke, at a play by Sam Shepard,
 that he was directing.
Also saw the NY City Ballet perform Sleeping Beauty,
which was like eating a big cream puff.
  The costumes, lighting and effects
that the colors created were ethereal.
Here are some photos from the art museum:

I'm finishing up painting a chair depicting a dog, bird and girl
for a benefit auction in Portland that helps people who are very
stressed, such as returning veterans.  I'll post the photos soon.
My camera battery went dead.
The chairs will be placed in shop windows around Portland which should
be fun.
